Bledar Haxhiu, MD

Dr. Bledar Haxhiu, MD, is a skilled family medicine physician at Islamorada Medical Center in Tavernier and Marathon, Florida. He has many years of medical experience and is highly trained in family medicine and primary care.

Dr. Haxhiu holds a Florida medical license and is board-certified in family medicine. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and his medical degree from the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine in Netherlands Antilles.

Dr. Haxhiu finished his medical training with family medicine residencies at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Florida, and Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

He also completed a fellowship in hyperbaric medicine at the Sint Eustatius School of Medicine. While there, he worked with, conducted research in, and treated patients with decompression sickness and diabetes.

He’s received many awards, including Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation Intern Resident of the Year and the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine Award for school service contributions.

Dr. Haxhiu has also volunteered at Larkin Community Hospital and the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine. He’s presented and published numerous research studies in the field of medicine.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Haxhiu enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He welcomes patients of all ages to Islamorada Medical Center and looks forward to caring for them.
